Fantastic results! - 25% of all GCSE grades at Nobel are A/A*
We are absolutely thrilled for our Year 11 students with their GCSE examination results.
The students achieved 65% 5 or more grades at A*-C including English and maths which represents an 11% point increase on last year’s GCSE results and a massive 19% points from 2012.
The vast majority students will be returning to the sixth form and amongst them there have been some truly outstanding individual performances, particularly at the highest levels. We are especially pleased with the number of students who have achieved the highest A* and A grades – 25% of all grades (this was 17.1% last year) High quality of teaching at Nobel has meant that progress for all students across the board has significantly improved. Special mention should be made of the English department where 80% of students made 3 levels of progress, expected nationally and a staggering 46% made 4 levels of progress – above national expectations.
The Head praised the outstanding performances of Ellie Ward, Bobby Banks, Lewis Day, Benjamin Gray, Bethany Hobbs, Claire Holtham, Philip Snoad, Chloe Saunders and Michael Tsang all of whom achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades.
Mr. Henson added: “This is a phenomenal performance by the students supported by excellent teachers, support staff and parents. The GCSE, like the A Level results, are significantly up on last year and underline the recognition from OFSTED that Nobel is a good school – we are now determined to be an outstanding school very soon’
